Temp-to-Hire (Permanent after 720 hours)
$58,000-$65,000 annually


Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Prior Authorization Coordinator to support a fast-paced healthcare operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for tracking authorization statuses, following up on pending approvals, and ensuring timely processing within established service level agreements (SLAs).

This position is ideal for someone who thrives on organization, proactive follow-up, and data accuracy, and who brings experience working with authorizations, approvals, or verification processes.


What You'll Do

  • Verify that prior authorization submissions are progressing within timelines established by management
  • Respond to inbound calls, voicemails, and incoming faxes; manage non-standard status checks such as delayed authorizations and specialty portals
  • Provide accurate forecasting for pending authorization decisions with insurers
  • Enter approvals and place orders in the CRM system upon receipt
  • Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, including inquiries, complaints, and actions taken, in compliance with HIPAA guidelines
  • Develop and maintain proficiency in CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and other internal databases
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and FERPA regulations and internal privacy standards
  • Respond promptly and document all communications across email, phone, fax, chat, and mail channels
  • Perform ongoing data collection and maintenance to ensure accuracy of medical information for reporting, auditing, and process improvement
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support company initiatives and departmental goals
  • Perform additional duties as assigned


What We're Looking For

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (some college preferred)
  • 2+ years of customer service, coordination, or related experience
  • Experience with prior authorizations, insurance approvals, verifications, or account follow-up
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to track deadlines and processes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong data entry and system navigation abilities
  • Comfortable handling outbound and inbound communication
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and on a team
  • Adaptable and process-improvement minded
